چکیده

Drought is a major environmental constraint, affecting agricultural productivity worldwide. Allelopathic hormesis, the low-dose stimulatory effect of allelochemicals, offers pragmatic solution in alleviating adverse effects drought plants. This study, therefore, conducted to evaluate potential brassica water extract (BWE) enhancing tolerance wheat. The experiment was based on three factors, viz, with levels (100%, 60% and 30% field capacity; FC), different concentrations (control, spray, 0.5%, 1.0%, 1.5%, 2.0%, 2.5% 3.0%) two wheat cultivars, Ihsan-2016 (drought tolerant) Galaxy-2013 (drought-sensitive). stress, particularly at FC, decreased morpho-physiological attributes both cultivars; nevertheless, application extract, effectively enhanced against stress. Compared control, 2.0% increased morphological attributes, such as seedling length fresh dry weights cultivars range 2–160% under capacity. In addition, triggered activities antioxidant enzymes, including superoxide dismutase, catalase peroxidase (11–159%), hydrogen peroxide content (14–30%) chlorophyll b carotenoid contents (19–154%), compared vigorous growth higher were related improved physiological better defense system reduced H2O2-based damaging effect.

Bound Water in Durum Wheat under Drought Stress.

To study drought stress effects on bound water, adsorption isotherms and pressure-volume curves were constructed for two durum wheat (Triticum durum Desf.) cultivars: Capeiti 8 (drought tolerant) and Creso (drought sensitive). Plants were grown under well-watered and water-stressed conditions in a controlled environment. Differential enthalpy (DeltaH) was calculated through van't Hoff analysis ...

Evaluation of Leaf Proteome in Wheat Genotypes Under Drought Stress

Drought stress in plants, the change (increase or decrease) in the production of plant proteins. Proteomics in recent years one of the most powerful tools that help us to study the changes in protein In order to investigate the proteome of wheat leaves in response to terminal drought, two genotypes susceptible and resistant wheat genotypes were evaluated under irrigated (non-stress) and rain-fe...

Effect of Co-Application of Auxin-Producing Plant Growth Promoting Bacteria and Tryptophan on Wheat Growth under Water Stress Conditions

Auxin produced by plant growth-promoting bacteria (PGPR) in the wheat rhizosphere, can improve plant yield under water deficit stress condition. To investigate this issue, a completely randomized factorial design with three replications was conducted under greenhouse condition at the University of Maragheh, Eastern-Azarbayjan, Iran during 2019. Treatments were two types of growth-promoting bact...

Nitric Oxide Mediates Molybdenum-Induced Antioxidant Defense in Wheat under Drought Stress

Molybdenum (Mo) has been reported to alleviate drought stress by enhancing antioxidant defense in plants, but the underlying mechanism remains unclear. Here, we hypothesized that Mo mediates nitric oxide (NO)-induced antioxidant defense through Mo-enzymes, particularly by nitrate reductase (NR) in wheat under drought stress. The 30-day-old wheat seedlings cultivated in -Mo (0 μM Mo) and +Mo (1 ...
